"One Fish, Two Fish" Newborn Exhibit
Come visit the spectacular seascape views now on display in
the Newborn Exhibit at Women's & Children's Hospital! This
artistic, commemorative gallery is filled with personalized tiles of
fish to celebrate the joy and wonder of any baby ever born at Women's
& Children's Hospital.
Featuring a vast array of colorful marine life, this
commemorative sea walk is sure to delight all those who visit with its
colorful murals and depictions of an underwater wonderland. Parents,
grandparents, godparents, relatives and friends are invited to
celebrate the occasion of a baby's birth by purchasing a ceramic fish
tile, complete with the child's name and birth date. This hand-painted
ceramic fish will be hung for display within one of our growing ocean
scenes, as a permanent tribute to the birth of your child. Newborns as
well as children born in the past at Women's & Children's Hospital
are welcome to "swim" in the Newborn Exhibit!
Located on the second floor of Women's & Children's
Hospital, this impressive two room reception area, connected by a
glass-walled walkway, leads to the Newborn Nursery and features vivid
murals of underwater scenes handpainted by art students from all over
the Acadiana area. It is within this memorable gallery that our
commemorative fish tiles will be displayed.
We have a
delightful selection of fish from which to choose: Sunfish, Clownfish,
Damselfish, Goldfish or Angelfish, any of which can be ordered in your
favorite color or custom design and personalized with your child's name
and birth date. Simply fill out the order form and send it in to the
address listed along with a check or money order. Donors who purchase a
commemorative fish will be notified by mail once the new tile has been
added to the Newborn Exhibit.
The Newborn Exhibit at Women's & Children's Hospital is
brought to you by the Woman's Foundation, a non-profit organization
dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of women and their
families. By purchasing a commemorative fish for your new baby, you
will be supporting the community education programs of the Woman's
Foundation, and contributing to its continuous efforts to provide
training, education and service in support of their mission.
